Language settings

In this article, we will give you an overview of all the language settings available in Sitejet and what they will affect.

Table of contents

Basic knowledge

Sitejet offers different settings to manage the language that is used throughout the tool as well as for your customers, their portal, and their websites.

Company language

The company language determines the default language of the interface.

By default, the language set here will be the language set in the metadata of any new websites you create. This is relevant for SEO purposes and can be adjusted individually via the customer data

The company language also determines the language for every new user you invite to the account.

You can currently choose between:

  • English
  • German
  • Español
  • Français
  • Italiano
  • Português
  • Svenska
  • Türkçe
  • Japanese

Profile language

The profile language determines the language of the interface. Changing this language will only influence the language displayed in your own account and has no influence on the global company settings.
You can currently choose between:

  • English
  • German
  • Español
  • Français
  • Italiano
  • Português
  • Svenska
  • Türkçe
  • Japanese

CMS language

By default, the CMS will be displayed in your profile language. But if you specifically want to change the CMS language, you can change it by clicking on the burger menu in the left corner and selecting your preferred language under "Preferences" as shown below. You can choose between:

  • English
  • German
  • Español
  • Français
  • Italiano
  • Português
  • Svenska
  • Türkçe
  • Japanese

Website language

The language option in the Detail View will influence the default website language as well as the language in the customer portal.

Example: If you choose English as the website language, you can see under "Pages" that the website is marked as English. This will not only be important when creating multilingual websites where the website automatically uses the correct ISO-639 code (e.g. "en" for English or "es" for Spanish) as part of the URL, but it also tells search engines about the actual website language. If you change the language after choosing a template, the default website language will automatically be changed, so that you don't have to take care of it.

Changing the website language will also determine the language of the customer portal. Currently, the customer portal is available in the following languages:

  • English
  • German
  • French
  • Spanish
  • Dutch
  • Swedish
  • Español
  • Italiano
  • Português
  • Svenska
  • Türkçe
  • Japanese

If you choose a different language, the customer portal will appear in your company language.
