Upload media through the File Manager
Sitejet provides an easy way to receive media directly from your customers directly through the Customer Portal. For your customers, the portal does have a file management option, which can be accessed by the left side menu under "File Manager".
Your customers can now upload almost any type of file, but the most useful are of course images (PNG, JPEG, SVG, WebP), videos, and PDFs.
Via "Create New Folder" it is possible to directly sort the media that are uploaded. This way, you and your customers can better organize a large amount of assets.
Under "Unassigned" your customers will see all media that has been uploaded and not been sorted into a folder.
Let us create a few folders and upload suitable pictures. In this case, we do focus on nature and animal pictures for our template. So, we create a folder for "Woods" and a folder for "Animals".
Note: The "Stock photos & videos" folder is being created when you download those pictures inside the Website Builder.
Now, all these folder are being created and your customer is able to upload the media into each individual folder. Meanwhile, all media can be observed and previewed as well as deleted again. However, if a file is already in use on your site, when you try to delete it, you will get a message stating that the file is in use and the deletion will be denied.
Those are also now being displayed inside the Website Builder under "Files & Stockphotos".
To make it easier to manage these uploads, you are able to decide what happens which each new folder.
Clicking on the dropdown menu to the right, you are able to sort by
- Name
- Date
- Type
- Size
This is getting more useful, when the number of media assets your customers send, grow. You are also able to hide the whole folder, bulk download it or simply delete it.
As an agency, you will spend most of your time dealing with these files within the Sitejet Website Builder. Access "Files & Stockphotos" by clicking "More" in the header menu and select "Files & Stock Photos" in the dropdown.
"Files & Stockphotos" loads on the right side and you are also able to maximize the overlay to have a better overview. Just click on the expand icon.
"Files & Stockphotos" contains all uploads that your customer provided through the Customer Portal. To add additional files, drag and drop them into the uploader or select the "URL Import" tab and specify the URL of the media asset you want to import.
Is there an upload limit?
