Collection Backups

The Backup Manager in the Website Builder manages the backups for the entire website and for the Collections. Both backups are linked to each other. If you are working on a website, an automatic backup is created every 5-10 minutes. If you want to save a very specific version of the website, you can also create and name manual backups.

A deletion process is triggered at the end of the day.

Backups are made:

  • ...the last backup of an hour from the last 24 hours
  • ...the last backup of a day of the last 7 days
  • ...the last backup of a week of the last 52 weeks

Further information on the general backup function can be found in the Backup Manager help article.
You can also find more information about the export function in the general help article on the Collection.

Create a Collection backup

If you want to restore a deleted collection or a collection entry, the Backup Manager will help you.

  1. Please click on the burger menu at the top left. The navigation will now open on the left.

  3. Click on ‘Restore’. An overlay will open where you can select which components of this backup you want to restore. You can choose whether you want to restore the website and/or one or more collections.
    a) Website: This includes all subpages with their layout, content and design settings as well as the styles of the collection listings and the individual page layout of the collections.
    b) Collections: Includes everything in the Collections Manager, such as the collection content and the data fields.

  4. Please select the backup function you would like to perform and click on ‘OK’.Now wait a moment and do not close the browser tab.The Website Editor will now load the version you have selected.

Note: There is a special feature with the collection backup. In the Backup Manager, you have the option of selecting each individual collection that you would like to restore. This is also possible separately from a website backup. All other collections are then not affected by the backup.

Furthermore, an old backup of the entire site will not delete the collections that have not yet been created at that time.

If you have added another collection between the selected backup and the current version of the website, it will not be removed. Only changes in the collection entries and the number of collection entries will be restored.
